"Delivering Simple, Results Oriented Trading Education"
TradeSmart University was founded for the purpose of making the seemingly complex issues of stock market trading accessible to anybody with a desire to learn. Our mission: “Delivering Simple, Results Oriented Trading Education,” creates the most accessible, easy-to-understand, comprehensive trading education on the planet. Training is conducted through Online Seminars (webinars) and consists of a complete, holistic approach to stock trading. Students love the light, fun environment through which the stock market is presented and comment often on the entertaining aspects of the class structure.

Like so many who have gone before him, Joshua David Hesse (we call him Josh for simplicity sake) moved to Nashville in 2004 to pursue his interests in the music industry. Despite his best efforts to change the culture, it turns out clarinet (Josh’s primary instrument) just does not represent the sound country music fans prefer. In an effort to provide for his family Josh served tables at various restaurants in the Nashville area (a supposed badge of honor among musicians). His hard work ethic eventually led him up the ranks at the Gaylord Opryland hotel where he stepped into his first management experience.
While serving tables Josh worked with his friend, and soon to be business partner Jeremy, learning to trade stocks and options. Together, they would meet after work (approximately 2 AM) and work on their trading together. After perfecting a few skills the two began sharing with others their love of trading and the techniques they had discovered and developed. By February 2009, the sharing with friends turned into sharing with many, and TradeSmart University was born.
Undoubtedly you have heard Josh’s voice resonating through webinars and videos at TradeSmart. He has contributed to all of our training programs and is directly responsible for Total Fibonacci Trading, Trader Conditioning Bootcamp, and Fibs in 4, and is a regular contributor to Power Trader Live, Trading Labs, and the TradeSmart University Mastery series.
A conversation with Josh will often lead to a random, somewhat awkward, pointing out of a fibonacci sequence in nature. Otherwise he’s a pretty great hang! In his personal life nature is quite important, as he spends much of his time clearing lumber on his land, hunting for wildlife to eat, or helping to raise a portion of his 5 children. Much to the surprise of many, the Hesse’s raise these kids without a single television in the house.
Co-founder, Chairman of TradeSmart University
The idea of creating Simple, Results Oriented Trading Education started with Jeremy. When family and friends began asking him for resources they might use to learn to trade, Jeremy was frustrated by a landscape of education that was over-priced and under-serving. As a result, Jeremy began personally teaching and mentoring those close to him in 2008. TradeSmart University grew out of those initial teachings.
Jeremy is the creator of our flagship course Foundations of Stocks and Options, as well as courses on Options Trading, FOREX Trading, Bollinger Bands, Elliot Wave Theory and much more. Today, he still approaches each lesson as though he was sitting around a coffee table teaching his family and friends.
In addition to holding the prestigious and highly contested TradeSmart Chili Cook-off award for 2013 and also 2014 (by default), Jeremy is also known throughout the trading industry for his ability to make complex subjects easy to understand.

If you have ever attended or listened to one of Alphonso's teachings two things stand out. First, is the precision in which he approaches trading. Secondly is that he is a technologically challenged. We like to laugh here at TradeSmart that no problem is to obscure for Alphonso experience when he is working with technology. Although Alphonso may have challenges posting a video to YouTube there are few people who will match the degree of discipline and intentionality that Alphonso brings to his daily trading. After having run a private hedge fund for two years in the early 2000's Alphonso quickly turned his attention towards more active trading through focuses his attention toward technical analysis and specifically focused Gaps and Price Action. Whether it's is 40-plus page Trading Plan or his R system of risk management you quickly discover why he is consistently profitable month after month. It is this reason that his classes: Tick by Tick, Risky Bussiness and Trading Plans are some of our most viewed classes in the TSU membership.

Shane hails from the majestically prestigious state of Kentucky. Discovering a love for detail and brilliant user experience, Shane pursued interactive design at Western Kentucky University. There, he gained knowledge and sophistication leading him into the wonderful city of Nashville. In May 2012, during his first week at TradeSmart, Shane narrowly escaped death when a garbage truck freakishly crashed into the house they were operating the business out of. Realizing that he possessed the gift of invincibility, Shane transferred that power into the development and design of the TradeSmart University website. You could say that our user experience is “magical,” and we thank him for that every day. Aside from TradeSmart, Shane also expresses his creativity in his own design work, while creating beautiful websites and logos for various entities around the country. Although not an active trader himself, Shane especially loved the principles taught in the Building Your Financial Fortress course because it allowed him to invest in his family’s own security. But aside from all else, Shane’s affinity for quality memes and funny cat videos keeps the office environment light and fluffy.
Have you ever wondered how a single piece of mail can find it's way half way around the country, better yet around the world in as little as a single day? If so you would love grabbing a cup of coffee with Brian. With his background in mechanical engineering Brian designs the inner systems of the US Postal Service for the last two decades. Brian was first introduced to TradeSmart as a student. His combined passion for trading and serving others made him a perfect candidate as a student moderator. Within just a short time Brian endeared himself to our TSU team through his willingness to go over and above as a student moderator and personally reach out to struggling students on his own time. This heart for meeting the needs of our students made him the perfect fit as moderator manager. The role of the moderator program is to facilitate the best possible learning environment for our students who attend one of our live class. Brian specifically works side by side with both our student moderators and instructors to ensure that each live class is delivering on our promise of simple, results orientated trading education. By the way if you think that Brian is simply all nerd, all you need to do is turn on the discovery channel and you might see Brian and his wife 200 feet deep in the ocean water on one of their many scuba-diving expeditions…
Originally from Phoenix, Trent came to Nashville for music, while pursuing this passion he started helping friends with a few video projects. The pop-culture and coffee shop enthusiast quickly found out he had a talent for photography and videography. He still wears plaid everyday but splits his time between his camera and his guitars. Starting with TradeSmart University as a freelance contractor in early 2014, he quickly proved to be invaluable in the production of the on-demand program. After having little interest in trading when he started editing the on-demand courses, he's now building his virtual account with the knowledge gained from TradeSmart University. There's a solid chance if the internet at the office is running slow, Trent is uploading gigs worth of uncompressed, high definition video or streaming Parks and Recreation on Netflix.

What does Seattle, Bubble Tea and video games all have in common? These are all personal passions of Cherie Young. As our only West Coast team member Cherie handles student questions that come to us either late in the evenings or weekends. After completing her bachelor's degree from the University of Washington Cherie was looking to for "non-traditional" methods of generating income when she discovered TradeSmart University. Like many successful students Cherie wanted an opportunity to give back to her fellow classmates. On top of having a full time job Cherie wanted to volunteer as a student moderator. Even as volunteer Cherie kept finding more and more opportunities to plug into TSU so it was a natural fit for Cherie to join our team as a customer service representative. If you notice how responsive we are to your emails on holidays, weekends, or late in the evening it is probably due to Cherie. Now on top of working for TradeSmart, having a full time day job she is also working on a personal project of developing photo gallery application. Did I mention she likes to stay busy…
